OWP Celebrates 30th Anniversary Year!
The Out of the Woodwork Players began in 1988 with a January informational meetings, a March workshop with B-G School drama students and the November OWP debut performance of Moliere's comedy, "The Imaginary Invalid," all held in the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre. Our goals have included live theatre instruction and performance experience for young people, promotion of the Town Hall Theatre, community interaction encouraging the spirit of teamwork and volunteerism through performing arts opportunities for all. We've done 14 dramas, over 20 comedies, 20 musicals, 12 workshops, 4 Variety Show THT Lighting Fund benefits and 3 performance poetry events. Seventeen directors, 8 music directors and multiple performers have come "out of the woodwork" to share their time and talents for our productions. In turn, OWP has contributed to community efforts such as playground projects, local history celebrations, disaster relief, cancer patient support, a performing arts shell and, of course, ongoing improvements to the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre. As we celebrate 30 years of live theatre, we thank those who've supported us by working on and in productions as well as those who come to see the shows. Join us as we journey into another decade of drama! |
