Thank you to all the auction participants, too!
This is our 7th year of Regatta Row Street Art Trail ! Twenty-two juried Artists will express their creativity on unique Adirondack “Canoe Paddle Chairs” or upon petite child sized versions of the chairs, for a temporary month long sidewalk exhibition of art. This year the theme is “Songs” and there is promised diverse interpretations.
JAC provides artists with the chairs, paint (Colart has donated Liquitex * heavy body acrylics) and a stipend of $125 for the adult chairs and $75 for the children’s chairs. Cash awards of $50 to $100 will be granted in 5 categories.
Giving regional artists a platform to showcase their work, Regatta Row increases the vibrancy of downtown and promotes an appreciation for the arts. Regatta Row is creating a public art space made possible through the help of local sponsors, and the volunteerism of the artistic community. Bringing beauty to the Bainbridge community is a crucial element in creating a culture which values the arts, and a more beautiful world. Our unique Paddle Chairs celebrate our communities unique identity, while symbolizing cultural events in our area. Proceeds from the Online Art Auction will go to the Jericho Arts Council Regatta Row fund to support our Artists & Musicians and to create future events.
* "Liquitex invented the first water-based acrylic paint in 1955 and has partnered with artists ever since, resulting in a long history of innovation. Today, Liquitex offers the largest array of artist quality acrylic paints, mediums and tools to enable artists to push their boundaries. Supporting the arts – artists and their community-has always been at the heart of their philosophy.”
Questions can be directed to the JAC Gallery Committee “Regatta Row 2021” at [email protected] or by calling Rachel Hares at 607-643-2211.
