Regatta Row 2024 Artists
#2. Carlylia Muller "1962" Chair at B&W Wine & Liquor
The overall design of my chair is surreal and plays with size and perspective. The chair is primarily black which implies the darkness of night and the deepness of water. There will be playful textures and fun details to view from every angle. And of course to celebrate the regatta is to celebrate the Susquehanna River. As a result the chair will feature a number of animals native to the area.

#7. Pat Cristelli "A Shoreline View" Rocking Chair at Tri Town Insurance Award of Excellence
Art, we go to the museums to view masterpieces, but my chair is to remind us, that art is all around us. Nature's palette of colors is brilliant, flowers, herbs, wildflowers and even the weeds are pieces of art. Take a walk and stop to really look at the flowers, or the sunset, or the birds, bugs and other living critters. Enjoy the amazing world we live in and find joy and happiness in all that surrounds you. |
#9. Kyle Hedlund "The Heartbeat of Regatta Row" Chair at Barnards Hometown Hardware Mayor's Award
Since the beginning of The Regatta Row program, one thing that has been consistent is the overwhelming support from the local businesses, sponsors and donors. None of this would be possible without the consistent and heartfelt support from them. Most of the businesses in the community take part in the Regatta in some way, shape, or form and are consistent supporters of the community year round without hesitation. So, this year I really wanted to shine light on and celebrate some of the amazing local businesses in our area. From classic favorites that have been around for generations. To new, innovative, and up and coming businesses. Surely you'll find one, if not many of your favorites represented! Note: The carved river on the right arm has stones from the Susquehanna River embedded in the epoxy! |
#12. Jessica Tefft "Bridging Time" Rocking Chair at The Crystal Shop
It is always a great joy and pleasure to participate in Regatta Row. I always find it to be a great inspiration for myself, and it is my hope that others who see my work, along with the other artists' work, will themselves become inspired to create and explore. |
#13. Christine Giuliano "A River's Journey" Chair at Iroquois Antiques Award of Excellence
My chair tells the history of the Canoe Regatta, starting with the beginning, the damning of Otsego Lake. General Clinton breached this dam to propel 208 boats filled with supplies down river. The journey continues along the river to 1962 when we began to celebrate the canoe regatta and travels to the present day where it is still a large part of our community. |
#14. Christine Giuliano "A Country Carnival" Rocking Chair at Bob's Diner Best Creative Concept
Who doesn't love a carnival in the country? The smell of food exclusive to fairs, children and adults laughing with excitement, and the sense of community you feel in smaller towns. It is a sense of nostalgia and pride. This chair attempts to capture that feeling. |
#15. Ellen Lockhart-Main "Decades of Regatta" Rocking Chair at Snips & Snails
I have lived through the decades the Regatta has been open and remember going to it since the 70's. Color and design has always been of interest to me. So, when thinking of each of the decades, I identified some patterns that were popular during those times. The one fabric that has been available from before and throughout this time is denim. The universal neutral fabric that goes with anything, has now made it to a chair. It's a comfy fabric on a comfy rocking chair. Enjoy rocking!! |
#16. Carol Lernihan "General Clinton Canoe Regatta-Through the Years" Rocking Chair at Chris Brown Auctions
The races are foremost in my rendering and I will be incorporating an outline of the Susquehanna and Unadilla Rivers onto my rocker naming and picturing places along the route. This year I have some info on the 2024 GCCR Hall of Fame inductees and some facts regarding the races. I always like to keep the Regatta as the theme of my project. |
#17. Robin DeGolier "Feathers on the River" Chair at Town Hall
Robin Yvonne DeGolier is a Multimedia artist with a passion for color and texture. Though she is self-taught as a painter, she has art degrees in fashion and graphic design. Over the last 20 years Robin has painted sets for Afton Community Theater, including “RENT”, “9 to 5”, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”,” Shrek”, “Beauty and the Beast” and several Christmas plays. She has also painted for Tri- Town Theater’s productions of “Kiss me Kate”, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Oliver” This chair was painted with a liquid paint technique creating feathers over a sponged river background. Robin believes that everyone can create art, it’s just a matter of finding one’s passion. |
#18. Donna Kazalski "Generations" Rocking Chair at Bainbridge Library Best Creative Concept
I have been selling my artwork and teaching beginner paint classes for a few years. I display and sell some of my work at Your Needful Things, a vendor shop in Binghamton, NY. I do commissioned work occasionally, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead of me as an artist. I am excited to bring the joy of painting to others, not only through my own work, but also through giving people the opportunity to take the brush into their own hand and create their own work of art. |
#19. Dorene Ireland "Blooms Abound" Chair at NBT Bank
This bright and colorful chair is a tribute to the art and colors of the 1960s, when our Regatta began. Growing on our citrus-themed backdrop are dozens of hand-painted blooms and blossoms in lush shades of purple, red and teal. It is a gentle reminder that beauty can be found everywhere, just like flowers, if only we give it the chance to grow. |
#20. Cheryllynne Moore "Stained Glass Susquehanna" Rocking Chair at VIP Payroll & Tax Services Best in Show
My vision for finishing my chair is to emulate a stained-glass design using paint skins made of acrylic paint pouring techniques. Each piece of "glass" in the large motif and the two smaller ones on the arms will be cut out of the paint skins and pieced together to create the design. The patterns I've designed are scenes of canoes on the river. For the back and sides, I simulate moving water in shades of blue and white. |
