On Saturday, April 27, 2019 the Jericho Arts Council (JAC) is producing the Regatta Row Street Art Fest, to bring attention to regional artists, musicians and businesses. The JAC is looking to sponsor 20 juried Artists who will create their art on either a newly designed Raised Garden Planter or our hometown classic, Adirondack style, Canoe Paddle Chair which is back by popular demand. The art will be displayed on Bainbridge sidewalks throughout May. Bainbridge, like dozens of other towns and villages in this area, is attempting a grass roots revitalization of the community and this is one of the efforts to support the JAC. Proceeds from the May 25 Art Auction at the General Clinton Canoe Regatta will go to the Jericho Arts Council to support our Artists & Musicians and to create future events.

While the selected artists finished work will be on display for a month, the Regatta Row Street Art Fest is 1 afternoon only. Each individual or group of musicians will be playing near one of the 21 chair & planter exhibits.

The April 27 Street Art Fest kicks off at Bainbridge Town Hall (15 N Main St.) from 2:00 to 4:00 PM With an Elvis finale until 4:30. (Rain? We all move into Town Hall Theatre, Gallery and Lobby) Artists will be meeting the public (about 300 attended last year) near their Art. Local merchants will have sidewalk displays where they “give back” to the community with small gifts, free food, beverages and coupons. With music filling the air, the art being inspirational and the attendees surprised by the generous spirit of all, it will be a unique and very sweet afternoon…
This is a heartfelt, family festival, based on the volunteerism of the artistic community. Artists and Musicians will be provided with refreshments and a modest stipend from the JAC. They are encouraged to promote their talent and to distribute cards or advertisements. The Jericho Arts Council will promote the Artists and Musicians names in their publicity, online and in flyers.
If you want to participate or pass this invite on to others who may be interested, please do! Social media blasts are greatly appreciated!
