On Saturday, July 23, the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce will host the First Bainbridge Summer Fest to showcase the new sound system purchased to use during village and town events. Between the hours of 4 pm and 8 pm Musicians will be lining North Main and West Main Streets, games for all ages will be organized by the Bainbridge-Guilford students in the parking lot behind Bob’s Diner, an antique car cruise-in will be featured and vendors and artisans will line the streets and the parking lot area.
At 7 pm the golf ball drop will occur in the lawn next to the Methodist Church. Prizes are closest to the hole $150, second closest $100, third closest $50. Purchase $5 tickets at Hometown Hardware, Highway 7 Bar and Grill, B&W Wines and Liquors LLC, Nana's Keepsakes, New Image Hair Care, Newbauer's Construction and Bainbridge House Bed and Breakfast. Tickets can also be purchased from any committee member.
At 7:15 pm Elvis will be featured in the Gazebo at the Village Green. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy !

“Walking My Dog” Steve Eisenberg plays the Flute, Bodhran, Harmonica, Whistle & Vocals. He performs regularly in Bainbridge and the region to raise funds and awareness for the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen. . Annie Simpson has been playing for over thirty years, in a duo or as part of a band, for dances, festivals and coffeehouses. Her guitar playing includes finger- picked, easy listening music as well as hard-driving backu-up for more energetic tunes. Her repertoire includes several of her own vocal compositions. Always tastefully appropriate. Togeher, they create a variety of sounds from Country, to Celtic, show tunes, old rock and Roll, a touch of Jazz, Blues, Gospel & more.

The OFF-BEATS is longtime local and regional singer/songwriter, Marian Tewksbury’s latest musical endeavor. The group is a 3 piece, all female, “RETRO-ROOTS-FOLK ROCK” band based out of Western Broome County. At the Bainbridge Summerfest street fair, they will be performing as a duo. Marian will be joined by a vocalist, percussionist and newcomer, Gina Behil. The ladies have been working together since last fall, playing such venues as the Cyber Café, Binghamton, NY, Ransom Steele Tavern, Apalachin, NY, McGuirks, Chenango Bridge, NY, Woodstock, a fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society @ the Enjoie Golf Course, and the Dugout, Apalchin, NY. Upcoming engagements and shows include but are not exclusive to the Endicott Farmers Market, Bi-weekly at the Endicott Visitors Center, through September, the Annual Garlic Festival, August 20th, Binghamton, NY and September 2nd at Carols Café and Art Studio, Owego, NY, for the monthly artwalk. Last year in 2015, Marian recorded her latest CD, “Stones of Remembrance” which earned her critical acclaim by local music critic, Mike Barno. It was rated as one of the 5 best new releases for that year. All music and instrumentation on the CD was written and composed by Marian. This CD and others will be available for sale during the Summerfest Street Performance, July 23rd. See you there!!

Rick Bunting
Rick Bunting has enjoyed a rich and varied musical life which has included Work as it soloist, conductor and stage director as well as his performing with the Susquehanna String Band. His educational experience ‘has also spanned a broad spectrum from all levels of public school to both undergraduate and graduate college teaching. He is a-Professor Emeritus from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where he served as both conductor of the renowned Crane Chorus and Chair of Music Education. He is a vocalist as well as a musician, and performs on banjo, concertina, flute, piano, and lap dulcimer. He has written textbooks on traditional American music in the classroom and lap dulcimer instruction, and has produced a collection of mountain dulcimer recordings. He has long been recognized for his vocal renditions of Scottish airs and ballads, said Ellen Wahl, artistic director for the music hall. “Complimenting this great vocal tradition, Bunting excels instrumentally on banjo, lap dulcimer, concertina and flute. His curriculum work featuring traditional instruments has delighted students throughout the Northeastern U.S.”
